Questions as Ngiya Girls National School remains quite on the KCSE Results as Top Schools Celebrate their performance
Ngiya Girls is on the spot again after numerous scandals last year where the management did not allow the singer and motivation speaker Esther Akoth aka Akothee to visit the school and the dramatic change of the previous principal.
This put the school at the centre of attention thus the public having the urge to know how it performed.
This was followed by a massive demand of answers from Siaya locals.
Our editors had a thought in the ongoing debate.
And he wrote "Ni wakati teteshi kwa shule ya kitaifa ya Ngiya girls baada ya matokea ya KCSE kurejea na wazazi hawajaridhika na matokeo. Naona wengi wakifoka mitandaoni kuwa hata iwapo matokea si mazuri basi waweke wazii.... Nina fikra ntaeleza kwa kimombo.
What if the dramas and the last turn of events where the church was in wrangles with the headteacher messed the students? Okay you will say that doesn't concern the students but what i believe is students are the product so any decision made in the name of the school affects them directly or indirectly. Look at schools that have excelled in Siaya county and look at how the church and parents were united in making sure the students had a condusive environment. A while ago, there was the school uniform saga where parents thought the school was soliciting fund or rather swindling their money in that business, that might have caused an attitude and teachers lack of marale to even ask parent for stipends to tuition students, leading to this rants over 2024 results.
I wont blame the students for lack of preparedness, i wont blame the teachers, but i will ask parents, did you create an enabling environment for the girls on the rock to excell in the last National exams? Its a thought... everyone is limited to their opinion and i welcome your thoughts... sir Odhiambo Otieno Stephen What do you think happened? Neillie Gwada where did the society go wrong?"
This is far from the truth. Someone is just taking out their anger on innocent pupils forgetting that there is a judge who sits in heaven. The three parties you mention worked so hard to ensure 2023 students perform. This can be evidenced by the internal and external exams that they did. The candidates were promising. I will quote one parent " penj ok en ajua" meaning exams is not by luck, if all conditions are maintained one can easily predict what their child will get. Today even the students that they beat in their externals have toppled them. Does that make sense? We will get to the bottom of this and all who took part in this injustice will one day answer by the hand of God. Our nation may fail to help this young girls but our God is very fair and just. It's truly a painful season for these girls who worked so hard to prepare for a better future. Now most of them don't even know what to do. It's just tears.
